In the thirty plus years that the Craig and Girdner family have been racing, 2007 may just go down as the best in the family’s history. Tom and Tim Craig teamed up with nephew/cousin Dave Girdner to capture wins in class 1600 in five of the six MORE series races in 2007. Along with the class points championship, 3G Racing claimed the MORE Series Overall Point Championship by a healthy margin.
All the long hours in the shop prepping for the races paid off race after race as the team reeled off four consecutive wins to start the season. The team suffered a minor setback in the fifth race of the year when a traffic jam in a one lane section of the course ate up 5 precious minutes… the team finished second less, about four minutes, thirty seconds behind the winner! The team returned a top the podium in the final race of the year, beating 18 other 1600 cars and finishing 4th out of 106 vehicles overall.
With great support from companies like Mickey Thompson Tires, Transaxle Engineering, and King Shocks, the team suffered no mechanical failures all year long. And in over 1500 race miles, the team had only one flat tire!
